Vamoose! Frequently Asked Questions
Vamoose! has the ability to instantly convert the gaseous molecules (the odor) into non-volatile, inert salts that are non-odorous. It also dissolves on contact the tar residue (source of odor) without causing damage to fabrics, hard surfaces, carpet, wood, leather and other materials. No other product has this ability.
A sticky or tacky residue can result when larger quantities of the product are used or when other cleaning products were used prior to the Vamoose application, which prevents it from drying completely. Vamoose is water-soluble and wipes off easily using a warm damp towel. It is very important to allow 24 hours before attempting any follow-up cleaning.
No, but we recommend testing an inconspicuous area before using.
One way is that the cigarette or tobacco odor will disappear. Also, one may detect an odor, which is created by the product dissolving the tar residue…we call this the “conversion” odor. The intensity of this conversion odor is proportionate to the challenge level of the tar deposits…the more tar, the stronger the odor. This conversion odor does dissipate fairly quickly and is evidence that the product is working correctly.
When this product comes into contact with the latent tar residue, it immediately starts dissolving it, creating an odor that is referred to as the “conversion” odor. The intensity and actual odor is proportionate to the challenge of tar residue that is being converted and has been described as a vinegar-like to a stronger sulfur-like smell. This “conversion” odor does dissipate fairly quickly.
Because of the differences in the size of vehicles and the contamination factor, we recommend using the Usage Guide provided on the Vamoose Products website.
Yes, Vamoose is safe and effective at eliminating the smell of cigarette and tobacco from leather. We recommend Leather Scent; it leaves a very nice leather fragrance after the product has been applied.
This product is safe to use around most pets, but you will need to keep small pets that are in cages (or are unable to leave on their own) away from the area. Also, remove or cover up aquariums due to the product’s ability to alter the PH level in the water. Although this product is not toxic, do not use this product around infants or small children and avoid using it around individuals who may have upper respiratory issues or Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. A Material Safety Data Sheet is available upon request.
We sell the product to both industries. Also, we have testimonials from individuals who use Vamoose! when staying in hotels or renting cars.

The amount needed is dependent upon the space and how heavily it was smoked in. Sometimes you have lighter smoke residue versus heavy residues left behind from people who smoke a lot or have smoked for many years. Please read through our Usage Guide for Vehicles to determine the amount you need. Please keep in mind the successful use of our product may require a couple rounds of treatment, depending upon the amount of contamination.
